Authentic Mandarin Songs, Written and Produced Remotely

Chinese lyrics, melody composition, and full C-pop/Mandopop production for diaspora artists, Western musicians, and brands that need a genuine Mandarin sound — without flying to Asia to find a producer.

Why This Service Exists

If you are a Chinese diaspora artist, an overseas Chinese creator, or a Western musician who wants an authentic Mandarin-language song, you have probably run into the same wall: there is almost nobody outside of Asia who can write Chinese lyrics that feel natural, compose a melody that works with the tonal structure of Mandarin, and produce it to contemporary C-pop standards.

Translation apps do not write lyrics. A Western producer who does not speak Mandarin cannot judge whether a melody fits the tonal contour of a word. A lyricist who does not produce cannot deliver the finished track. You need all three skills in one place. That place did not exist for remote, English-speaking clients — so we built it.

We are a China-based production studio that communicates in English, understands both Chinese tonal language and Western production workflows, and handles everything from the first line of lyrics to the final mastered WAV. No middlemen. No lost-in-translation notes. No "can you find someone who speaks Chinese for this part." One studio, one process, one finished Mandarin song.

Three Types of Artists We Work With

🌏

The Diaspora Artist

You grew up with Mandopop in the house but you live in the US, UK, Australia, or Europe now. You want to release original Chinese-language music but cannot find a producer locally who understands the language, the tonal requirements, and the C-pop sound you hear in your head. We speak that language — literally and musically.

🎵

The Crossover Artist

You are a Western artist who wants a Mandarin song — for a special release, a collaboration concept, or a C-pop-influenced track. You have the vision but not the Chinese-language songwriting ability. We write the lyrics, shape the melody around Mandarin tonal constraints, and produce it so it feels authentic, not like a gimmick.

🏢

The Brand or Agency

You need an original Chinese-language song for a campaign, a brand film, a product launch, or a culturally specific activation in Chinese-speaking markets. We deliver broadcast-ready original songs with full commercial licensing, fast iteration, and English-language project communication throughout.

Mandarin Work

Real projects, real songs. Audio available on request for serious inquiries.

Mandarin Ballad

"落叶" (Falling Leaves)

Chinese-American singer-songwriter, Vancouver

Client provided Chinese lyrics and a thematic direction for a mid-tempo ballad. We composed the melody around tonal phrasing, arranged full instrumentation with piano, strings, erhu sample, and light percussion. Mixed final vocal stems over the 2-track instrumental.

Sample Project — Audio available on request
Mandopop / R&B

"城市岛屿" (City Island)

Indie artist, Sydney

Client gave us a concept: urban isolation with warmth underneath. We wrote Chinese lyrics from scratch, composed a melody blending Mandopop phrasing with modern R&B production, and built a full arrangement with synth pads, 808s, and atmospheric textures.

Sample Project — Audio available on request
Bilingual Crossover

"Half Home" (半家)

Chinese-British artist, London

Bilingual song with English verses and a Mandarin chorus. We wrote the Chinese chorus lyrics, composed the melody, and produced a genre-blended track crossing UK indie pop with C-pop ballad sensibilities. Delivered full mix + instrumental.

Why Mandarin Songwriting Is Different

Writing a song in Mandarin is not the same as writing one in English and swapping out the words. Here is what changes.

Tonal Language, Tonal Melody

Mandarin has four tones plus a neutral tone. If your melody rises on a falling-tone word, the meaning changes — sometimes to something you did not intend. We compose melodies that follow the tonal contour of the lyrics so the words land clearly and naturally, which is essential for emotional delivery and listener comprehension.

C-Pop Genre Conventions

Mandopop and C-pop have structural conventions that differ from Western pop: verse-to-chorus transitions, bridge placement, melodic ornamentation, and the role of the erhu, guzheng, and other traditional instruments in modern production. We know when to lean into those conventions and when to subvert them for crossover appeal.

Lyric Density & Phrasing

Chinese is a syllable-dense language — one character per syllable, no articles, compact grammar. A Mandarin verse packs more meaning into fewer beats than English. The phrasing must match the emotional rhythm of the language, not just a translated word count. Native fluency matters because we hear when it sounds off.

Why a Native Speaker Matters

A non-native speaker can learn Mandarin grammar and vocabulary. They cannot reliably judge whether a lyric sounds poetic or like a textbook exercise, whether a rhyme lands or feels forced, or whether the emotional register matches the intended meaning. Those judgments come from a lifetime of hearing the language in songs, films, and everyday speech. That is what we bring.

Mandarin Songwriting FAQ

I don't have Chinese lyrics. Can you write them?

Yes. The Standard and Pro tiers include original Chinese lyrics written to your theme, story, or concept. Tell us what the song is about, the emotion you want to convey, or the narrative arc, and we write the lyrics from scratch. The Basic tier requires you to provide Chinese lyrics or at minimum a clear thematic direction.

What style of Mandarin songs can you do?

We work across the full C-pop and Mandopop spectrum: ballad, pop, R&B, rock, folk, electronic, cinematic, and fusion styles. Reference tracks are the best shortcut to communicate the sound you want. We can also blend Western production aesthetics with Mandarin vocal traditions for a cross-cultural sound that feels organic, not forced.

Can you work with my existing melody?

Yes. If you already have a Mandarin melody — a voice memo, piano sketch, or rough demo — we can arrange and produce around it rather than compose a new one. This can be quoted as a custom scope under our Standard or Pro tier depending on whether you also need lyrics. Send us what you have and we will give you a clear quote.

Do I need to speak Chinese to use this service?

No. All client communication is in English. If you are a Western artist wanting a Mandarin song, you provide the creative direction and theme, and we handle the Chinese-language writing and vocal melody composition entirely on our end. You will need to hire a singer who can perform in Mandarin — or if you are recording yourself, we can guide you on pronunciation as part of the delivery notes.

How does the chorus A/B option work?

Available on the Pro tier. We compose and produce two distinct chorus directions with different melodic shapes, harmonic approaches, or production treatments. You listen to both and pick the direction that resonates more. This dramatically reduces revision risk, especially for Mandarin songs where the tonal fit between lyrics and melody can make or break a hook. You get closure faster with better results.

Can I get the instrumental version too?

Yes. Every Mandarin Full Song delivery includes both the full mix with guide vocals and the instrumental version (2-track). If you need individual stems for later remixing, live performance backing, or archival purposes, the stems export add-on is available for +$79 (Personal) or +$149 (Commercial).

What if I need English and Chinese lyrics in the same song?

Bilingual songs with both English and Chinese sections are absolutely within our capability. We have written songs that move between languages within verses, choruses, or as call-and-response structures. This requires the Pro tier due to the added writing complexity, structural considerations, and the need to ensure both language sections feel equally natural. Mention it in your inquiry and we will scope it precisely.
